The St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, Greater St. Louis, Inc., and the Boeing St. Louis team (collectively, referred to as the Partnership”) are partnering on certain community improvement initiatives in the City of Kinloch, Missouri. To help with these efforts to clean up and revitalize the City of Kinloch, Boeing St. Louis provided a grant in the amount of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) to Greater St. Louis Inc. (the “Grant”). The Grant will be used to remove debris and waste, prevent re-dumping, and maintain cleared sites within the city limits of Kinloch, Missouri. Oversight and administration of the Grant is being provided by the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership.
Scope of Services
The Partnership seeks qualified hauling and waste-management contractors to remove, transport, and dispose of approximately 1,500 deteriorated mattresses located along Gregory Drive and Mable Avenue in Kinloch, MO (the “Services”). These mattresses have been exposed to the elements for several years and are no longer suitable for reuse, salvage, recycling, or incineration. The chosen hauling/waste-management company needs to dispose of the material through permitted landfills within the region. The Services must be completed between October 30 and December 28.
Project Scope
The selected contractor(s) will be responsible for:
• Supplying all trucks, equipment, labor, and materials needed to collect, load, and remove all mattresses from Gregory Drive and Mable Avenue. (Note: some mattresses are mixed within overgrown vegetation and may require additional labor and equipment to access. Interested parties are encouraged to attend the site tour detailed below.)
• Transporting the mattresses to legally permitted landfills in St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Franklin County, and/or Southern Illinois.
• Verifying acceptance of the material with landfill partners in advance.
• Managing degraded mattress conditions, including waterlogging, fragmentation, and structural instability.
• Conducting all operations safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Providing documentation compliance and lawful disposal.
