On Nov. 20, Performance Food Group, ranked no. 80 on the Fortune 100 list and one of the largest food distributors in the U.S., opened the door to its brand new 338,000-square-foot distribution center, in Berkley, Mo. Rodney Crim, CEO and president of St. Louis Economic Development Partnership (STL Partnership), was among the speakers at the ribbon cutting ceremony held at Performance Foodservice – Middendorf.

The new facility includes 127,000-square-feet of cold storage and a 47-door loading dock to move products more efficiently. It also added 39,000-square-feet to its fresh cut meat distribution, which delivers its products to Kansas City, Mo., Little Rock, Ark. and New Orleans, La., among many other locations.

This more than $115 million investment is expected to add close to 100 new jobs to the St. Louis area.

STL Partnership’s Business Development division and Greater St. Louis, Inc. collaborated with the State of Missouri and the Missouri Department of Economic Development to facilitate the deal that led to this new facility.
