Greater St. Louis, Inc., other metro leaders join PFG to break ground on new facility

ST. LOUIS — Performance Food Group, Inc. – a Fortune 100 company and one of North America’s largest food distributors — is investing nearly $120 million and adding nearly 100 new jobs in the St. Louis metro. The new facility expands PFG’s presence in St. Louis and allows the company to grow its operations locally as well as across the Midwest region.

“Performance Foodservice Middendorf is proud of our 60-plus-year history in the St. Louis area and our reputation as a premier distributor of food, foodservice supplies, and custom meats to our more than 1,500 local customers. We look forward to moving to our new facility, which will allow us to add to our associate base and enable us to better serve our growing customer base,” said Greg Gruber, President of Performance Food Service Middendorf.

Metro leaders came together today to break ground on the new, nearly 350,000-square-foot regional distribution facility in North St. Louis County.

“This investment by Performance Food Group is the latest great news for North St. Louis County,” said St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page. “The food distribution facility continues the successful build out of NorthPark and showcases St. Louis County as an exciting place to grow a business.”

The region’s business and civic leadership – led by Greater St. Louis, Inc. and the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership – collaborated with the State of Missouri and the Missouri Department of Economic Development to facilitate the deal that led to the new facility and the nearly 100 new jobs it will bring to the region.
