BRE team tours STLCC Transformed project

On September 18^th, the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership (STL Partnership) Business Expansion and Retention (BRE) team toured the St. Louis Community College (STLCC)

Florissant campus. The tour was to see the construction of a few new buildings, part of the STLCC Transformed project.

STLCC Transformed is St. Louis Community College’s plan to modernize facilities and programming in an effort to meet Missouri workforce demands, as well as improve the overall student experience. There will be six new buildings and some renovations at existing spaces at each of the St. Louis Community College’s four main campuses. The project is expected to be completed in 2026 and cost $450 million.

The Florissant Valley campus will welcome two new buildings as part of STLCC Transformed, a Nursing and Health Sciences Center and an Advanced Manufacturing Center. The Wildwood campus will receive expansions to the campus and a new Health Sciences and Technology Center. The Forest Park campus in St. Louis City plans to expand on recent additions and renovations. It will welcome a Transportation Education Center. The Meramec campus will receive a Financial Services Education Center and Emerging Technology Center, which will be connected by an accessible, inclusive plaza.

Support for the project came from the St. Louis community and the passing of Proposition R. Proposition R was passed during a special election held on August 3^rd, which included an eight-cent tax levy increase.

“These new construction initiatives will establish a pathway for residents to obtain training in high-demand fields and for companies looking to find their next skilled workers,” said Jason Archer, vice president of Business Development at STL Partnership.
