World Trade Center Hosts Liberian Leader for Meeting

MacDella Cooper joined by African organizations at WTC office
MacDella Cooper, minister of the state for presidential affairs and senior political advisor to the President of Liberia, visited the World Trade Center St. Louis (WTC) office on March 28. During the visit, Cooper met with members of WTC as well as key organizations that represent Africa throughout the St. Louis region. That included representatives from the African Chamber of Commerce, the Liberian Community Association—which represents nearly 700 Liberians in St. Louis—and St. Louis County NAACP President John Bowman.
Among the speakers at the meeting were Cooper, Bowman, Rodney Crim, CEO and president of St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, Todd Gilyard from Missouri Minority Business Agency, Arinola Solanke from the African Chamber of Commerce and Vamadu Sheriff of the Liberian Community Association.
Many countries across the African continent are emerging as potential trade partners. The WTC recently went to Kigali, Rwanda, and is looking at ways to connect St. Louis companies to trade opportunities across Africa. This Fall, at their annual Growing Global event, WTC will be exploring how vital Africa is to the future of global commerce.
