The Monarch on MLK

Empowering economic mobility in St. Louis
St. Louis Development Corporation is leading a redevelopment initiative with a focus on advancing economic mobility. The Monarch, located at 3940 Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, will turn a 15.39-acre site into a dynamic campus dedicated to job training, workforce development and fostering small, minority-owned businesses.
The site will engage the local community by connecting them with opportunities in high-paying, in-demand careers. The aim is to build up the community with economic strength and resilience. This project is part of St. Louis’ effort to invest in equity and create lasting change in predominantly Black neighborhoods. The Monarch on MLK will be a space for growth, opportunity and community empowerment.
Situated within the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District, the site is near the Next NGA West Campus, Project Connect Area, AMICSTL and Ranken Technical College. Areas of workforce training include advanced manufacturing, education, healthcare, geospatial technology and transportation. It will also offer initiatives that focus on housing, financial empowerment and job creation. The campus will prioritize local residents for enrollment and expects its first tenants in 2025.
