St. Louis Selected Among Best Places to Live in 2026
Second consecutive year St. Louis makes Livability list
For the second straight year, St. Louis has been chosen as one of the Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S. from Livability, which explores what makes small-to-medium sized cities great places to live.
While developing the list, Livability utilizes a methodology that examines a city’s housing affordability, amenities, safety, health, education, transportation, economy and additional data points.
Regarding St. Louis’s economy and jobs, Livability wrote, “St. Louis has established itself as a career leader in health sciences and services, though the area has a strong tradition of leadership in transportation and logistics. It’s also an emerging hot spot for financial services and investment advisors. In recent years, the city has carved out a reputation as a tech hot spot, drawing tech companies, remote workers and entrepreneurs eager to join (and grow) the innovative, creative tech scene here. Some of the largest employers here are Washington University, BJC HealthCare and Boeing. Edward Jones Investments, a financial firm, is headquartered in St. Louis.”
