The Welcome Neighbor STL, 501c3 nonprofit organization, is seeking proposals from qualified driving schools to provide accessible driver education services for immigrant & refugee women that reside in St. Louis County. The goal of this program is to assist fully vetted, work-authorized immigrant & refugee women to enter the workforce by removing transportation barriers through driver education programs and ultimately obtaining a valid driver’s license.
Program Overview:
This program will serve (50) fully vetted work-authorized immigrant and refugee women who may:
● Be first time drivers
● Be unfamiliar with U.S. traffic laws and driving systems
● Be English language learners
● Require flexible scheduling options
Services may include classroom instruction, behind the wheel training, and preparation for written and road tests. All MBE, WBE, Immigrant-owned, Veteran-owned, and Labor Surplus Area owned businesses are encouraged to submit proposals.
