Event to focus on the potential of Africa as an up-and-coming market for St. Louis

World Trade Center St. Louis (WTC), the international division of St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, will host its annual Growing Global Conference on Wednesday, September 24. The theme for this year’s event will be Africa Rising: Navigating Markets, Investments and Trade.

Africa, where the population is projected to nearly double to 2.5 billion people by 2050, is home to a young and entrepreneurial workforce poised to increase prosperity on the continent and around the world. Because of this, St. Louis views Africa as a future vibrant trade partner.

Speakers at the event will include Mathilde Mukantabana, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Rwanda to the United States of America, Elzandi Oosthuizen, senior vice president of the Head Enterprise Corn Product Team at the Bayer Crop Science Division and Fred Swaniker, founder and CEO of Sand Technologies.

The event will take place at The Ritz-Carlton in Clayton from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Registration and the reception begins at 11 a.m.
