On Feb. 20, Darrell Scott, vice president of business finance at St. Louis Economic Development Partnership (STL Partnership), educated attendees about business loan options at a Business Watch Lunch and Learn at Jennings City Hall. Business Watch is an event held every two months for local entrepreneurs and business owners to learn how the City of Jennings can support its business community. Each session also features expert speakers from around St. Louis who share their knowledge and answer questions on a variety of topics.

During Scott’s presentation, he taught the audience about different business loan options, including SBA 504 loans, specialty loans, the St. Louis EDA loan program and industrial revenue bonds. He explained the details and eligibility requirements for each loan type as well as the loan process. Scott also explained items required for a loan application and what information would need to be validated.

Colleen Mulvihill, small business development manager at STL Partnership and SBDC business counselor, has also served as a speaker at Business Watch. In August 2025, she provided guidance on business planning and start-up strategies.
