BRE Committee Tours Newly Renovated Powell Hall
Renovation, expansion reopened to public in September
The Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) committee met on Oct. 8 to tour the renovated space of Powell Hall in midtown St. Louis. Home to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Powell Hall completed its $140 million expansion project in September and reopened to the public.
The committee had the opportunity to see the upgrades to the 100-year-old music center, which include new and improved entrances, additional concession areas and restrooms, enhanced retail space and a new café. The expansion will also benefit the musicians with new lounges, practice rooms, an education center and better instrument storage.
The BRE committee connects St. Louis companies with government and economic development officials to ensure business owners, leaders and entrepreneurs know who to contact regarding opportunities or challenges. The team includes representatives from St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, World Trade Center St. Louis, St. Louis Mosaic Project, St. Louis Development Corporation, Greater St. Louis, Inc., the Missouri Department of Economic Development, Spire, Ameren, St. Louis County Workforce and the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment.
