Boeing Project Wins MEDC Award

Collaboration will bring new opportunities, revenue to St. Louis economy
A business development team comprising of representatives from Greater St. Louis Inc., St. Louis Economic Development Partnership (STL Partnership), St. Louis Lambert International Airport, St. Louis Development Corporation, and the Missouri Department of Economic Development recently won the Business Retention and Expansion award from the Missouri Economic Development Council (MEDC). The Project Voyager Team as they were called, teamed up to bring new expansion from the Boeing Company to North St. Louis County, which was deemed award worthy from MEDC.
The expansion is expected to bring 500 new employees to Boeing and a $1.8 billion investment to the area. It is also estimated that the impact will result in more than 6,000 direct and indirect jobs, nearly $590 million in labor income and $2.4 billion in output.
The Project Voyager Team was presented the award on June 3 at the MEDC Annual Conference in Branson, Mo.
