Boeing Continues to Elevate St. Louis Economy

Expansion, new deal expected to bring additional jobs to St. Louis region
Last year, the Boeing Company (Boeing) began construction on a new Advanced Combat Aircraft Facility near Airport Road and James S. McDonnell Boulevard. The $1.8 billion expansion project also includes an aircraft delivery facility. The expansion, which is expected to eventually create 500 new jobs for the area, was helped made possible by a Chapter 100 tax incentive from St. Louis Economic Development Partnership (STL Partnership).
“Boeing has been an established linchpin in St. Louis for decades,” said Jason Archer, vice president of business development for STL Partnership. “This expansion investment shows that they will continue to be for many more years. We are proud to be able to help them with this expansion.”
This expansion project has led to more substantial news for Boeing.
On March 21, it was announced that Boeing will build the U.S. Air Force’s next-generation fighter jet, the F-47. With Boeing’s defense business being based in St. Louis, this is a significant development for the region.
Already among the largest employers in the St. Louis area with more than 16,000 employees, this contract is expected to bring even more jobs to Boeing and the region.
