Community Investment (Outreach)
The Community Investment team works with St. Louis City and County to help businesses grow. We work with municipalities to help them create sustainable communities through economic growth. We are intentional about equitable economic development and work to ensure that our under-served communities have access to the resources that they need to thrive.
You will find us in communities gathering information about issues that businesses, municipalities, and neighborhoods are facing, connecting them with resources that lead to positive solutions. The Community Investment division provides support for redevelop projects that need assistance planning, assessing, or implementing the cleanup of environmental hazards.
St. Louis Promise Zone
The St. Louis Promise Zone was part of a ten-year federally designated program intended to increase economic activity, improve educational outcomes, reduce serious and violent crime, invest in transformative development, and improve health and wellness in high-poverty urban, rural, and tribal communities. The Promise Zone included parts of North St. Louis City and North St. Louis County, that are rich in history and culture but have been historically under resourced. The 10-year program ran from 2015 – 2025. The official designation has now ended, but the work continues.
Currently, the Community Investment team is focused on working with community members and the organizations that serve them to bring critical resources that will help businesses grow and create sustainable communities in the neighborhoods in that region. We partner with local leaders to give communities proven tools to drive regional growth and create a better, more inclusive St. Louis region.
