Trade mission set for Nov. 6-15

World Trade Center St. Louis, the international division of St. Louis Economic Development Partnership (STL Partnership), will host a trade mission to Kenya and Rwanda Nov. 6-15.

Africa is considered one of the most substantial up-and-coming trade markets for St. Louis. The continent’s population is projected to reach 2.5 billion people with the economy expected to grow to $29 trillion by 2050. East Africa is predicted to be the fastest-growing economic region globally over the next two decades. According to a 2023 report from Euromonitor, East Africa is expected to deliver a Gross Domestic Product Compound Annual Growth Rate from 2022 through 2040 of 6.1 percent, outperforming the Southeast Asia and Latin American markets.

Kenya is the largest economy in East Africa and Rwanda is a dynamic hub for business, investment and innovation. Together, these markets provide a logical entry point and partner for doing business in Africa.

Mission participants will meet with African business, government and civic leaders, receiving market briefings from local experts, gain cultural experiences and attend networking events.
