St. Louis REALTORS® Commercial Luncheon
Professionals and community members discuss Spanish Lake
On Tuesday, June 9th, St. Louis REALTORS® hosted its Commercial Luncheon. St. Louis Economic Development Partnership (STL Partnership) and St. Louis County Planning were invited to speak at the event.
The event drew a large swath of attendees, with representation from Spanish Lake, Mo., community members and property owners, as well as realtors, brokers and lenders from across the St. Louis region.
The presentation was led by Charlie Hinderliter, St. Louis REALTORS® chief advocacy officer and director of commercial services, Joel Hensley, St. Louis County long range planning manager, and Kellie Shelton and Maude Trost, STL Partnership senior project managers.
The topics covered during the luncheon all related to Spanish Lake. Hensley gave a brief rundown of the St. Louis County 2050 Plan, along with detailing the Spanish Lake Small Area Study and the next steps for that project. Shelton and Trost covered the recent Counselors of Real Estate® (CRE) Consulting Corps Recommendations report, and the key findings and long-term action items the report laid out. The presenters also gave an overview on the WildCare Park development happening in the Spanish Lake area.
After the presentation, attendees were encouraged to discuss opportunities and needs in the Spanish Lake area. A common theme brought up revolved around encouraging WildCare Park visitors to explore the rest of the Spanish Lake area once they left the park. General discussion about development in the area also occurred, with a deep dive into financial institutions in the area as well as locally owned shops.
The event brought with it fresh perspectives and beneficial dialogue about the present and future of Spanish Lake.
