Mosaic Project Hosts STL 101 on Supporting the International Community
Suzanne Sierra, Blake Hamilton share how newcomers are adjusting to life in St. Louis
On Jan. 20, the St. Louis Mosaic Project, a regional initiative that is professionally managed by the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, World Trade Center St. Louis and a 32 Member Steering Committee, hosted an STL 101 information session, called “Supporting Our International Community.” The session, which took place on Zoom, was co-hosted by Suzanne Sierra, executive director of the Mosaic Project, and Blake Hamilton, president and CEO of the International Institute.
During the presentation, Sierra and Hamilton shared immigration updates and resources that are available for foreign-born people in St. Louis, plus information on how the Mosaic Project and International Institute help new foreign-born residents. Sierra specifically discussed the Mosaic Project’s Professional Connector Program, its International Student Hiring Challenge and its STLParaTi initiative. The co-hosts also provided insights on who is moving to St. Louis, how newcomers are getting accustomed here and what is helping them succeed in building a new life.
STL101 is a monthly program hosted by the Mosaic Project that brings together St. Louis newcomers, natives, and internationals for an evening of connecting, socializing, and learning. Typically held on the second Tuesday of the month, STL 101 hosts speakers from a variety of local groups that are reinvigorating the region. More information can be found here.
