Funding to support Helix Center modernization

On Aug. 7, the Missouri Technology Corporation (MTC), a public-private partnership created by the Missouri General Assembly to promote entrepreneurship and foster the growth of new and emerging high-tech companies, announced recipients for its 2025 Physical Infrastructure Grant Cycle. St. Louis Economic Development Partnership (STL Partnership) was among the seven announced recipients.

STL Partnership will use the funding to support the Helix Center Biotech Incubator (Helix Center) to modernize infrastructure, double shared lab space and expand HVAC and electrical capacity. Helix Center clients have access to more than 33,000 square feet of affordable wet labs, dry labs and office space. Its campus provides the resources needed to accelerate the growth of any startup.

The Helix Center is located inside the 39 North Innovation District (39 North), the agri-food tech/plant science hub that also received a grant from MTC. 39 North will use the funding to support expansion of the hub by transforming newly available space into shared lab, office and event facilities.

MTC approved nearly $1.9 million in funding for the 2025 Physical Infrastructure Grant Cycle, which is a grant-based program that seeks to ensure that entrepreneurs across the state have access to the physical infrastructure and resources needed to launch and grow their businesses.
