Phase One of Kinloch Revitalization Efforts

Community partners band together to kick off project
The St. Louis Economic Development Partnership (STL Partnership) is participating in a transformative effort to restore Kinloch, Missouri, with the 2025 Kinloch Block Builders event, kicking off phase one of a larger revitalization project. Led by the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Regional Business Council, this cleanup is the first step in a comprehensive strategy to restore the historic community.
The event is a joint effort involving corporate and municipal partners, including Paric, Spire, St. Louis City, St. Louis City Forestry, St. Louis County Parks & Forestry, St. Louis County departments, St. Louis Development Corporation, Ameren, Missouri American Water, St. Louis Lambert International Airport, the City of Kinloch and Fred Weber, to remove years of illegal dumping in Kinloch. This area, which was significantly impacted by an airport buyout program in the 1980s, has seen a major population decline. Now it is poised for an economic and social rebirth.
Through this work, community and corporate partners are committing to addressing Kinloch’s long-standing challenges and ensuring a brighter future for Kinloch residents.
“This cleanup is a testament to how much we can accomplish when we work together,” said Rodney Crim, CEO and President of the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership. “I want to thank all of the volunteers and companies who are donating their time and equipment to make this cleanup happen. It is truly a remarkable effort that will benefit the city of Kinloch and the region.”
The cleanup marks the beginning of ongoing efforts, with plans for additional phases of restoration scheduled for later in the spring. This work in Kinloch is part of a larger vision to breathe new life into the area, focusing on long-term revitalization and growth.
