GeoFutures Boosting St. Louis’ Geospatial Industry
One year after releasing its strategic roadmap, GeoFutures is already taking huge strides in making St. Louis a global center of geospatial excellence.
GeoFutures, an initiative of Greater St. Louis Inc., was formed in October 2019 to boost the region’s geospatial sector. Its work has come as the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) builds its new $1.7 billion western headquarters, which is slated to be fully operational in 2025.
Regional partners behind the GeoFutures initiative say the region has already reached key milestones to boost geotech entrepreneurship, expand workforce development training, help develop the area around the new NGA campus in north city and raise St. Louis’ profile among industry leaders.
“The St. Louis region is already greatly benefitting from GeoFuture’s initiatives,” Rodney Crim, CEO and President of the STL Partnership, said. “We will see this industry workforce and entrepreneurship continue to grow as St. Louis becomes a global leader in the geospatial sphere.”
