Clean-Tek Flooring Systems, Inc. located at the Wellston Business Center has been thriving since 2003. The company is a janitorial, cleaning and flooring contracting business providing services to private industries, as well as local, state, and federal government entities. Specializations also include carpet encapsulation, tile and specialty floor restoration and rejuvenation.
“The Wellston Business Center provides our company with an ideal location and is conveniently situated adjacent to the Wellston Metro Station as well as several bus lines,” said Sergio Cuevas, Owner of Clean-Tek Flooring Systems, Inc. “A few of the advantages is having a meeting space on-site and being able to network with other small businesses located within the center.”
Cuevas came to the U.S. in 1972 after leaving his birth country of Chile. He then went to work at Ford Motor Company in Argentina in 1973 and returned to the U.S. in 1974 as a permanent resident and gained citizenship in 1979. In 2003, Sergio decided to pursue his entrepreneurial goals.

“Our first major contract from 2003-2009 with Lambert Airport gave us sustainability and capacity to handle growth,” said Sergio. “We feel proud to have grown and now we have a total of 32 employees, managers and supervisors and we are grateful for the commitment of several large institutions that have been part of our growth as well.”
Clean-Tek Flooring Systems, Inc. also takes pride in persevering through COVID-19. “For us to thrive during this pandemic, we are keeping open communication with our current contractors and customers and tend to their increasing needs,” said Cuevas. “Since we provide cleaning services, additional sanitizing, disinfecting and cleaning are often requested from our customers and we are also increasing our marketing efforts to let new and potential customers know that we are here and what we do.”
Cuevas is also passionate about future goals for his business. “We want to make sure we have continued orderly growth and creation of well-paying jobs while maintaining a solid reputation as a reliable MBE/DBE,” said Cuevas. “We will accomplish this through our dedicated staff and employees whose shared goal is customer satisfaction.”
