The Regional Advanced Manufacturing Partnership Hosts First Virtual Meeting Focusing on Cybersecurity

STL RAMP hosts first virtual meeting since COVID-19 focusing on cybersecurity

Recently, the first quarterly Regional Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (RAMP) meeting was held virtually since the beginning of COVID-19. It was a collaborative event with Research Enabled. The STL Partnership’s “RAMP” is the unified voice of advanced manufacturers in 15 counties of Eastern Missouri and Western Illinois.

Topic of discussion:

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification, or CMMC, the most recent of the Department of Defense’s (DoD) efforts to secure the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), by creating a cybersecurity assessment model and certification program – requiring many manufacturers to need assistance and expertise to fully comply. If a business wants to pursue contracts requiring greater cybersecurity maturity, CMMC provides a progressive, actionable roadmap to get there.

Information was also presented on how to stay abreast of University-based developmental work and services that enable your compliance, connect with the researchers responsible and enable your business to grow with the opportunities.

Speakers included:

  • Connie Bertolucci, Vice President at WB Industries Panel Moderator
  • Sejun Song, Ph.D, Department of Computer Science Electrical Engineering at UMKC
  • Spyros Tragoudas, Director, Consortium for Embedded Systems at SIU Carbondale, and NSF IUCRC
  • Sanjay Madria, Ph.D, Curators’ Distinguished Professor, ACM Distinguished Scientist; Director, Wireless to Cloud Computing (W2C) Lab; Missouri S&T
