STL Mosaic Project Helps Afghan Refugee Build New Career

The St. Louis construction industry and STL Mosaic Project collaborate to build new careers for Afghan refugees

With the help of the St. Louis Mosaic Project and local construction companies, Afghan refugee Shamil Khorasani is on the right path to building a successful career in St. Louis.

“It’s heartwarming from a personal point of view and economic point of view to see the commitment of people in our region to helping people with marketable skills connect,” said Betsy Cohen, Executive Director of St. Louis Mosaic Project.

The Mosaic Project, established a decade ago, has a goal to transform St. Louis into the fastest growing metropolitan area for immigration by 2025 and to add 25,000 foreign born to the region from 2016-2025.
