Targeted Employment Areas
Targeted Employment Areas (TEAs) designated for EB-5 projects lower the required foreign investment amount from $1 million to $500,000 per investor. In order to obtain TEA designation, the EB-5 project location must be in either a rural area or high-unemployment census tract, 150 percent of the national unemployment average. In addition, he Missouri Department of Economic Development ultimately determines TEA designation for a project in the GMIC Regional Center. A current map of qualified census tracts can be found here.
