The advanced manufacturing staff supports building and retaining a skilled advanced manufacturing workforce by:
- Expanding formal and informal conduits for manufacturing employment through the use of apprenticeship and mentoring programs
- Increasing private sector participation in workforce development
- Creating a focused Workforce Investment Board strategy for advanced manufacturing
- Identifying and supporting displaced aerospace workers to transition to other advanced manufacturing employment
- Making manufacturing an attractive career choice at all education levels
