Congratulations Otis Williams!

Executive Director of the St. Louis Development Corporation retires

Otis Williams, Executive Director of the St. Louis Development Corporation since 2013, has retired. Williams helped facilitate huge projects in The City of St. Louis including the development of the new Busch Stadium, Ballpark Village, the Cortex Innovation Community and redevelopment of the old Arena site and City Hospital. He also played a key role in the city retaining the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s western headquarters and construction of the 1.75 billion dollar facility.

“I feel really good at seeing some of the developments that have occurred,” Williams said. “They weren’t easy. St. Louis is not necessarily the destination for a lot of development, and what we tried to do is change the attitude and the environment, to really make it such that developers would want to do business in the city.”

Rodney Crim, CEO and President of the STL Partnership, said Williams’ dedication to making the City of St. Louis a better place to live and work is inspiring.

“Otis’ work to improve the City of St. Louis inspires us all to not only make the region an attractive place to do business, but a place to stay and settle in” Crim said.

Mayor Tishaura Jones nominated US Bank leader and Dream Builders 4 Equity President Neal Richardson to take over as Executive Director of St. Louis Development Corporation.
